Hush City Mobile Lab on TV

Last Friday evening our research work on “everyday quiet areas” and the Hush City app was featured in the rbb Abendschau. With  Sabrina Wendling of the rbb, Antonella went on a duo soundwalk through Charlottenburg. They listened to the city sounds and discussed the impact of noise on our health and the importance of protecting urban oasis of quietness. Design and planning strategies were also addressed by visiting good and best practices at Steinplatz and Walter-Benjamin-Platz. Antonella gave also a demonstration on how Hush City app works and launched a call for participants in the project: data crowdsourced with the app will be evaluated by the Berlin Senate within the context of the next noise action plan, under preparation.

We are very excited to be part of such a great number of international events focusing on how to create cities that support our health and well-being. This gives us the opportunity to share our findings regarding quietness in the city and to disseminate our idea to put people back at the core of planning processes when it comes to identifying, evaluating and protecting quietness in the city.  We are also excited to see that the topics of sound, health and well-being as well as the soundscape approach will be discussed at a greater extent and from different perspectives.

Follow us on  Twitter in these days! We will post updates in real time form the events!
